We are very proud to say that we have partnered up with one of the best tea suppliers in the world. About 95% of our dry tea and herbs come from our primary vendor located in Toronto, Canada, with over 30 of experience. The rest of our herbs come from different vendors located in the USA that carry the finest and fresh ingredients. Our teas are sourced primarily from China, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, and Thailand.
Tea is a highly specialized agricultural product, and to preserve optimal quality, our vendors only buy peak seasonal tea and vac-pack them for enduring freshness. Therefore, the most crucial step to ensure sustained quality is to purchase tea only when it is at its seasonal peak, and most global tea regions have only a 3-7 week window when quality peaks. Therefore, our teas are always fresh!

Approximately 2 years when kept in their bag and used regularly.
Keep tea in your bag to protect it from light, humidity, and high temperatures. Also, make sure to keep it in a dry, cool place away from the stove, and do not store it in the refrigerator or freezer. Also, please keep it away from items with strong smells. Oxygen, moisture, and intense aromas are all hazardous to the delicate subtleness of tea.
Yes, it is a better quality tea for several reasons. In the tea industry, tea leaf grading is the process of evaluating products based on the quality and condition of the tea leaves. The highest grades are often referred to as "orange pekoe." On the other hand, the lowest quality is referred to as "fannings" or "dust." So, when they are crushed to make bagged teas, the tea is referred to as "broken." As a result, the tea dust does not have the same mouthwatering flavor or full benefits.
Ayurveda is believed to be the oldest science of medicine, practiced for more than 6,000 years. Ayurveda translates as “science of life” in Sanskrit. Most of the time, Ayurvedic teas are blended to complement and balance the three Doshas. Moreover, Ayurvedic teas are traditional herbal teas served with specific herbs to help balance, detoxify or nourish your mind or body. Therefore, the right kind of Ayurvedic tea can help balance the doshas in your body to bring back harmony and well-being.
NO. Our Ayurvedic teas do not treat or cure diseases. However, drinking Ayurvedic teas made up of certain herb combinations may help restore some Dosha imbalances. According to Ayurveda, if the Doshas are imbalanced, we can help them bring them back to their balanced state through an Ayurvedic routine, lifestyle, diet, and herbs before irreversible changes occur. In addition, according to Ayurveda, the intelligence of the herbs will help restore where the body has lost its connection to consciousness.
Please consult your primary physician before making any changes to your diet. Our Ayurvedic teas are made up of different herbs that may be compatible or incompatible with any medications you may be taking. Our herbs + fruit blends are kid-friendly, which can make great juice substitutes or can be turned into homemade popsicles! Yummy!
Most of our products are organic. In addition, some of our Ayurvedic blends contain organic herbs. You may refer to the Tea Menu for information on a specific tea for more information.

The caffeine content is on each tea label. No surprises :)

IDEAL BREWING TEMPERATURE: 100ºC/212ºF
HOT BREWING METHOD: Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place one slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea for each 7-9oz / 200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time, the stronger the tea).
ICED TEA BREWING METHOD (Individual Serving): Place one slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea or one tea bag into a teapot for each serving required. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 6-7oz/170-200ml per serving over the tea. Cover and let steep for 7 minutes. Add hot tea to a 12oz/375ml acrylic glass filled with ice, straining the tea or removing the bags. Not all of the tea will fit, allowing for approximately an additional ½ serving. Add milk and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice, this is a sign of luxury quality and nothing to worry about!)
ICED TEA BREWING METHOD (Pitcher): (To Make 1 Liter/Quart): Place 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea or 6 tea bags into a teapot or heat-resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups/315ml over the tea. Steep for 7 minutes. Quarter-fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher, straining the tea or removing the tea bags. Add ice and milk, and top up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice, this is a sign of luxury quality and nothing to worry about!)

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is an organization pursuing continuous improvement of food safety management systems. This is done to ensure the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.
Though GSFI is not a certification system in itself, a food safety certification program is recognized by GFSI when it meets internationally recognized requirements developed by industry experts.
The Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000) was designed to provide companies in the food industry with an ISO-based management system that GFSI recognizes.
In addition, FSSC 22000 defines requirements for integrated processes that work together to control and minimize food safety hazards.
Our primary vendor strictly follows the National Organic Program (NOP) that applies to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines for the safe production of organic products.
It integrates FSSC 22000, GMP, C-TPAT, COR, and the European Union (EU) Organic program to ensure consistent, organic products.
NOP guidelines prohibit:
Annual audits ensure all processes are in order and documentation is up-to-date.
Our primary vendor is a USDA NOP Certified Organic Food Handler, certified in compliance with the US-Canada Organic Equivalency Arrangement terms.
TIER 2 CERTIFIED IN GOOD STANDING SINCE 2005.
US Customs and Border Protection implemented C-TPAT ensures the secure transport of goods into the USA.
Our primary vendor participates in this program, meaning that it plays an active role in the war on terrorism.
C-TPAT certification ensures our goods travel swiftly across borders.
Compliance includes:
SFCR / FSMA With the increasing complexities of modern food production, the government of Canada and US food safety focus is shifting towards the prevention of foodborne illness.
The Safe Food for Canadian Regulations (SFCR) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) were implemented to manage these complexities. Facilities covered by SFCR and FSMA are required to have and implement a written food safety plan that includes:
Fully integrated within our FSSC 22000 program, our GMP program outlines policies designed to ensure the safety and purity of our tea products. All of our employees are trained on the following:
Additionally, the following are not permitted within any of our production facilities:
Our primary vendor is CERTIFIED IN GOOD STANDING SINCE 2016.
The Air Cargo Security (ACS) Program was designed to protect travelers and efficiently keep goods moving in and out of Canada.
As global shippers, our primary vendor rigorously adheres to all program points.
While participation is voluntary, we believe in helping create a safer global environment for everyone.
To be considered for membership in this program and remain in good standing, our company:
When it comes to the safety of our products, our primary vendor doesn't take chances. Their rigorous Safe-Tea© Quality Assurance Program (S-QAP) follows a robust list of procedures and certifications to ensure safety at every step of the supply chain- this includes annual audits of our entire operation.
Our primary vendor understands that additional food safety measures are needed. To compensate, they have developed programs to address tea industry issues that are often off the radar of some government agencies.
Enhanced food safety standards
Their safety standards exceed those of some regional governments. For example, in the case of agricultural input residue, we follow and exceed European standards as our baseline. These are known to be the highest in the world.
Additional self-funded initiatives include:
Our primary vendor undergoes a regular audit to ensure that Kosher is maintained. Kosher refers to a set of intricate biblical laws that detail the types of food that a Jewish person may eat and prepare it.
To be certified Kosher, all ingredients in every product, and the process of preparing the product, must be certified for orthodox kosher compliance.
Our primary vendor undergoes a regular audit to ensure that Kosher is maintained.
Veganism is a vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products, and animal-derived ingredients.
Our vegan products are marked with the VegeCert symbol.
The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) is a not-for-profit organization that convenes tea companies, development agencies, and governmental and non-governmental organizations to improve the lives of communities within the tea sector.
We are very proud to say that our primary vendor works in partnership to tackle the deep-rooted issues that are holding back the sustainability of the tea sector.
What issues are we talking about?

Our primary vendor is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership!
Ethical tea tastes better.
Are you currently buying teas certified by the Ethical Tea Partnership?
You should.
The Luxury Tea Difference
1. Luxury quality teas are hand-plucked. This means reducing reliance on fossil fuels and pollution with virtually no CO2 output. (Japan is an exception. There, luxury teas are harvested by machine.)
2. Tea plantations absorb CO2.
The better run the estate is, the more carbon is absorbed. In addition, most of the estates our primary vendor deals with use renewable timber and old rootstock for fuel, further reducing emissions.
3. Luxury estates rehabilitate the soil. Fields are rotated and left fallow on a regular schedule.
4. Better botany means less reliance on pesticides. Many of the luxury teas we carry are pesticide-free. As a matter of fact, many luxury tea areas (i.e., Darjeeling, Kenyan Highlands, or Sri Lanka) can support tea 100% free of pesticides, thanks to the high altitudes. (Tea pests can't survive.)
When these policies are followed, luxury estates thrive, providing jobs, housing, education, and medical care for workers and their families.
